Vagabond Lodge is a boutique hotel located in what can only be described as a fairy tale setting, at the base area of the Gondola lift.

A beautiful timber framed lodge, it offers extremely comfortable accommodation over three floors. A large entrance area leads to the main lobby, with TV area and pool table. Stairs lead up to a huge open sitting area with open fire, bar and dining area and up onto the first floor with sleeping accommodation located to a further upper level. All rooms are very nicely furnished and have private bathrooms.

The over-stuffed furniture, wood burning River Rock fireplace, one of a kind split-log Douglas Fir Hand-made bar, wide plank flooring, and the floor to ceiling windows all make Vagabond Lodge a special and unique experience.

Ken and Lori are fantastic hosts. Lori was involved in the tourism business in Banff and Edmonton for a number of years, while Ken's background is originally in the media, having worked for TSN The Sports Channel for 20 years.

Food wise you wont go hungry. Breakfast, featuring Lori's fresh baked fruit scones, fruit pancakes, home-made bread, hot and cold cereals, farm fresh eggs and home-made yogurt will get you set up for your ski day. If thats not enough to keep you going, hot lunch, pasta, chili etc is also included.

Home-bakes Cookies are set out in the afternoon and post skiing, Apres-Ski Munchies are complimentary around the Bar area.

All in all, theres not much for you to do during your stay here, other than enjoy yourself!

THE VAGABOND STORY
I met Ken and Lori in the summer of 2010 when I was invited by mutual friends to a Pot Luck dinner for locals at the Lodge - this is where everybody gets together for a meal and brings a dish. The Parson Jazz Cooperative, a local jazz band that had recently been set up, were also playing at the Lodge for fun, and Ken was on drums. Now, I play a pretty average jazz sax and happened to have my alto sax with me, so I took it along.....

The minute I walked in I was blown away by the place. The wood, the open fire, the sofas, everything. Ken and Lori were so welcoming and the food was great. Just the sort of place I would want to stay...

After supper the band got up and I asked if I could join in. Luckily, I knew a lots of the tunes the were playing and we had a great time. Since then I have played with them around town in the winters and, even if I say so myself, we're not too bad!
